Emmy-nominated TV host, Robyn Moreno, recently featured Rumi Sumaq macrame jewelry in a blog post titled Get Chunky.

In the post, Robyn writes:

Art Deco has gone ethnic. Or has ethnic has gone art deco?! Either way, jewelry trends have been taking off this season with major influences from both parties. The geometric patterns, bold shapes, and glitz of deco have melded with the handwoven, dyed, and rustic chic of ethnic. This jewelry is all about being chunky and edgy and still sleek and modern.

Both the macrame bracelet and the macrame necklace are one of a kind designs. They are available for purchase at Collier West in Brooklyn, New York.

Elegant Fiber Jewelry, from Peru with Love

Peruvian artist Coco Paniora Salinas, who lives in New Jersey, learned the fundamentals of making macrame jewelry from his mother, a traditional fiber weaver. The soft colors, complex botanical shapes and raw embedded gemstone lend his jewelry plenty of visual punch. But the restrained composition of the designs preserve a certain elegance. Look for Salinas in the Contemporary Crafts area, tent G.
